We are so very excited to announce that STILL HERE won the “Best Student Documentary” award at the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at the Cannes Film Festival! The event took place on Thursday May 20th at the Roger Ebert Conference Center in the American Pavilion. The selection of films in the Emerging Filmmaker Showcase was highly competitive: some 800 films were submitted, from which 12 were chosen to be part of the program. Director Alex Camilleri was in attendance at the festival to receive the award on behalf of Randy, David, Kyle, Amrita, Rashna, Phiroz, Paul and the many others who have supported the success the film. While in Cannes, Alex blogged about some of his experiences at the festival. You can catch up on his adventures here. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Walter Harris and Monika Skerbelis from the American Pavilion who made this wonderful opportunity possible by hosting this fantastic event. Alex’s trip to Cannes would not have been a success without the support of Geri Cosenza from the Vassar Film Department, Vassar’s Dean of Studies Office, and the great generosity and patience of his friends and family.
STILL HERE has a blog!
